Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; Hebrews 1: 3

No person can express the same image of another person unless both are the same. Twins may express image of one another but their inner nature differs. Both twins can represent a family but cannot represent one another in their inner image. Jesus Christ is the express image of God’s personality. It is about personality. Hence, both Our God and the Lord Jesus are same.

And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.Genesis 1: 26. God said let us( God and His son) make in our image a man. Hence, it may be understood Adam was created in His likeness and in His nature. In the beginning, Adam(or say ours) nature which is free of sin was like God. In such a nature, man had a close contact with God which he lost after his disobedience.

In other instance, our Lord himself confirms this that He is the express image of God. In the vesre- “Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.John 14: 8-10”

But most the people in this world say that Jesus is only a prophet of God. They never agree that He came into this world and was crucified. They also give illogical statements saying that Jesus never claimed himself as God. If he was only a prophet, he may be a representative of God on the earth but never be the express image of God. If you believe the Word of God is true, this is also true that he is the express image of His person and both are one and the same.

Therefore, it may be understood that Adam (or say we) before his disobedience was not only in His likeness (structure) and also same as His image( inner form or nature). As it is written in the book of Psalm 82: 6,”I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.”To bring us back to His image, Our Lord shed his blood for remission of our sins and salvation. His work on the cross of Calvary gave us a chance to be transformed into His image.

But we who have accepted Him as Saviour, are being turning back many times to our old deeds neglecting the importance of being transformed into His image. Lord servant Paul’s desire was to see all those who accepted Jesus would be able to stand in His second coming worthy to take part in the rapture. As you see-“My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you, Galatians 4: 19”. It is because we all must be in the image of the Lord. The Bible says, Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.1 John 3: 2. What does it mean that we shall be like him? Does our face resemble like him or our inner nature is transformed like His image? The image which we lost in the garden of Eden must be regained. We also must be like the express image of Jesus person unless which we are unworthy to be with Him in the Heaven.

Hence, you need to know daily
(1)what actually your express image is
(2) how far your inner image is being transformed similar to our Lord’s
(3) what actually you need to do further to gain His kingdom.
