GOD SPEAKS

Surely the Lord God does nothing unless He reveals His secret counsel to His servants the prophets. Amos 3:7

RESPECT HIS ANOINTED!

People are carving for identify and praises from the people in the churches. They do not prefer sufferings, pains which their preceding Man of God faced but after a church reaches its own identify and reputation, they seek good posts in the churches. They never take role in development of the church but crave for their own identify. They might have been granted talents by the Lord but they can never be used by the Lord unless they follow his mind.

Let us see whom God uses:

Case 1:

The LORD render to every man his righteousness and his faithfulness: for the LORD delivered thee into my hand to day, but I would not stretch forth mine hand against the LORD’S anointed. 1 Samuel 26:23
David had respect towards king Saul. We know King Saul’s attitude towards David was evil and tried to kill him. Though David had chances to kill King Saul, he never dared to kill him. David is a man after God’s own heart. As it is written-” to whom also he gave testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will. Acts 13: 22″. A man after God’s heart never dares to harm an anointed man of God. Killing Saul would be an opportunity to David to become a king. But David never aspired for these methods of men. He waited for God to make him a king. Some people in the churches want to be identified as great by the other believes in the church and use methods of men to do service of the Lord. They deny others and consider themselves as special talented. Remember, God uses people after his heart who respects his anointed people.

Case2:

Now after the death of Moses the servant of the LORD it came to pass, that the LORD spake unto Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ minister, saying, Joshua 1: 1. Joshua was Mose’s minister. This was a testimony from our Lord himself. He respected Moses as man of God. He never desired for the place of Moses. “And Moses rose up, and his minister Joshua: and Moses went up into the mount of God. And he said unto the elders, Tarry ye here for us, until we come again unto you: and, behold, Aaron and Hur are with you: if any man have any matters to do, let him come unto them. Exodus 24: 13-14”. He was with Moses when he went up into the mount of God. Moses did fasting forty days and night. What about Joshua? Though it is not clear whether Joshua did fasting for 40 days, he was there with Moses. Joshua respected the Man of God and obeyed anointed Moses. God chose Jashua as next leader. You may see he himself did not choose this office. God choose those who respect his anointed.

Case3:

And he ran unto Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou calledst me. And he said, I called not; lie down again. And he went and lay down. 1 Samuel 3: 5
Samuel was an obedient man of God. From the above verse, you may see Samuel RAN unto Eli. When Samuel heard the voice of God, he thought the man of God Eli was calling him. You may see it is during the late night he ran unto his Man of God Eli. Running tells us he has due respect towards the anointed. Do we respond immediately to the calling of any anointed man? Nay, rather we murmur but prefer to occupy his office! God chooses obedient and respecting people.

Case4:

So he departed thence, and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen before him, and he with the twelfth: and Elijah passed by him, and cast his mantle upon him.1 Kings 19: 19. Elijah was directed by the Lord to anoint Elijah. Elisha left all he had. He was a richman and was plowing the field. His nature was hard working , sacrificing all he had for the Lord and respecting the Man of God. He also followed Elijah like Joshua followed Moses. This is the reason it is written “And Elijah said unto Elisha, Tarry here, I pray thee; for the LORD hath sent me to Bethel. And Elisha said unto him, As the LORD liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. So they went down to Bethel.2 Kings 2: 2” He did not want to leave his man of God. He had respect towards the man of God.

Therefore, if you-

(a) respect and be obedient to the anointed men of God
(b) do not want to leave the men of God
(C) industrious in nature
(d) are willing to sacrifice all you have for the Lord
(e) do not use your own methods to occupy the important posts in His office,
surely God shall choose you in his work.

A SUCCESSFUL MINISTRY

And ere the lamp of God went out in the temple of the LORD, where the ark of God was, and Samuel was laid down to sleep: That the Lord called Samuel: and he answered, Here am I. 1 Samuel 3:3-4

Samuel did successful church ministry and he was known as great Prophet and man of God. From the above verse, in a successful ministry, you may observe the following: –

(a) God’s servant spends more time in the presence of the Lord:

Till ere of the lamp of God went out, Samuel did not sleep in the church. As you see in the Bible, “In the tabernacle of the congregation without the vail, which is before the testimony, Aaron and his sons shall order it from the evening to morning before the LORD: It shall be a statue for ever unto their generations on the behalf of the children of Israel. Exodus 27:21.” God Servant Samuel lay down to sleep after he spent twelve hours (from the evening to morning: twelve hours) in the presence of the Lord in ordering the lamp of God. You may also compare it with other verse – Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any men walk in the day, he stumbles not, because he seeth the light of this world. But if a man walk in the night, he stumbles, because there is no light in him. John 11: 9-10. The night represents the darkness of the world. One may stumble during nights. Therefore, a true servant of God prefers to spend his time during nights with the Lord. You may see our Lord also spending all night in prayer to God. “And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God. Luke 6:12.” You may also perceive only those overcome the flesh can wait on the Lord as it is written- “watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak Matthew 26:41.” God servant Samuel overcame the flesh and was successful, like our Lord Jesus, he did not sleep till ere of the Lamp of God went out.

In the same temple of God, you may see the arc of God. In a God speaking ministry, man of God honours arc of God- where in exists (i) the law of God or the word of God (ii) the rod of Aaron (iii) manna. As the Servant of God spends more time meditating the word, he shall feed the believers with strong meat (Hebrews 5:14)) and make them strong in Christ. Therefore, the sheep shall not fail to follow the Lord. As they hear more and more the word of God, their faith increases and the result would be miracles since the faith itself brings out miracles in our life (as the rod of Aaron budded supernaturally).Further, the manna represents the resurrected body of Christ “so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me. This is the bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever. John 6:58.” “Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me I Corinth 11:24.” . A man of God builds the church on the basic doctrine –the resurrection of the Christ so that the believers will continue in the faith till they live on the earth.(not on the doctrines giving much attention to the healings, miracles etc., neglecting the basic principle of resurrection of the dead). Resurrection of Christ should be the centre of faith.

(b) God’s servant corrects the people of his Church:

The man of God Eli could not restrain his two sons from doing evil things which was the reason for the wrath of God and Prophet Samuel was chosen in their stead. God’s servant observes his people and cares for his people that none of the spirits of the church be fallen into the eternal fire. As seen from this verse “Aaron and his sons shall order it from the evening to morning before the LORD Exodus 27:21”, in a successful church ministry, a good shepherd of God shall order (or say exhorts or corrects) the spirit of all believers (The spirit of man is the candle of the LORD. Proverbs 20:27) and never lets ere of the light of them to go out. As we know, there are seven lamps in the light of God. Seven is the number that represents wholeness or unity. The church does not show discrimination between the people who ever they may be. It also includes our family members too. In a successful church, the man of God does not show discrimination. He corrects all people.

(C) Believers support the church:

A man of God alone cannot lead a church successfully. The role of believers is also important in successful church ministry. In such a church believers –

(i) spend money for the work of the Lord: Consider this verse:“And thou shall command the children of Israel, that they bring thee pure oil live beaten for the light, to cause the lamp to burn always Exodus 27:20.” From this verse, you may observe they have to bring in pure olive oil to the temple of God. From where will they bring the olives? Are they free? They have to purchase olive which means spending money for the benefit of the church apart from giving tithes. We may see most of the believers are not willing to give their tithes, how will they give something other than tithe? People should know the more they give to the Lord, the more he will multiply.

(ii) Work at home for the Church: They have to beat the olives at home. The same oil will be used by the man of God for the light of the lamp. This means they have to spend time at home to bring out olive oil. The olive oil also represents the prayer. Therefore, it may be understood that in a successful church, believers spend their time at home to support the church in prayers.

Therefore, in a successful church ministry,
(a) Man of God spends more time in the presence of the Lord
(b) Man of God corrects his people without discrimination in the light of word of God and
(C) Believers are willing to give for the needs of church development and support the church with their prayers at home.

A LABORATORY FOR SCIENCE ~ SPIRITUAL EYES FOR FAITH

When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him. Mark 9:25

But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 1 Corinthians 2: 14

People who read the scripture about the foul-deaf-dumb spirit they will definitely laugh. In this scientific era, most people believe science more than God. Because, it could be one reason that a concept or things they believe can be tested and proved in the laboratory. People want evidence. They see and believe as His disciple Thomas did when our Lord resurrected from the dead.

But, when a thing of faith is being proclaimed, people mock at the doctrine. They neither test nor try to understand what the word of God really teaching them! They are foolishness unto us. In addition to that, they will give a general statement that all religions teach the same and it is good for all.

For testing things of science -laboratory and for the things of God -spiritual discerning eyes are instruments. As we see with the natural eyes, there are also spiritual eyes to everyone. When they are opened, you will understand and agree that there also exists spiritual world.

Read the following two verses from the Bible:

(i) And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight. Luke 24: 31
&
(ii) And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha. 2 Kings 6: 17

The Bible says that there are spiritual eyes in addition to our natural eyes. Ask Him, if you believe, open your spiritual eyes to see the spiritual world and understand the truth.

YOUR PREFERENCES MATTER A LOT!

There is an order in the work of the Lord. You may see it from the beginning of the creation of the world by our Lord. Observe the order of creation: Light-Heaven-Separation of water and creation of the Earth-Herbs-Lights of day and night- creatures out of water and the Earth- Finally,Adam and Eve. Everything depends upon on its sequences of creation. He is a God of Order and discipline.

Just imagine if the above were not created in order what would have happened? If Adam and Eve were created first and later on the herbs, how would they sustain? The nature is created for us . We have not been created for the nature. This is the reason you may see God created everything for us and thereafter, he created Adam and Eve. The similar principle applies in all aspects of our life on the earth. Many times, we will be facing the situations to choose the order of preferences. Your choice makes it difference.

Let us see how this happens: But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6: 33″.The order of seeking things for our needs according to the above verse is: kingdom – righteousness- things of your needs. Now just consider if the above order is just reversed what will happen?

The result would be loosing both the opportunity to enter his kingdom and welcoming the curse or suffering. The order doing things in preference will matter a lot.

Two examples can justify the above:

1st Case :”Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee:And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:Genesis 12: 1-2″ and also read “For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is .Hebrews 11: 10”.

Abraham came out of his own country after receiving a word from the Lord. From these two verses you may see Abraham did not prefer to seek a promised country on the earth but a promised kingdom of heaven. Abraham was already a rich man when he came out from his own country. His moto was not to have blessings of this world. He obeyed His command and sought the kingdom of heave first. He choose his preferences better: (1st ).seeking the kingdom of God –(2nd) having faith in the Lord — Automatically, the blessings which are the consequences thereof came to him.Thereafter, you may see ” Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. James 2: 23″. He believed and he was reckoned as a righteous man. Thus, you may see he sought ,first of all, his kingdom and righteousness , the remaining blessings followed him.

2nd Case : And he said unto him, Went not mine heart with thee, when the man turned again from his chariot to meet thee? Is it a time to receive money, and to receive garments, and oliveyards, and vineyards, and sheep, and oxen, and menservants, and maidservants? 2 Kings 5: 26 Gehazi preferred the riches, the cares and needs of this world over the the presence of the Lord with the Prophet Elisha. His preference was like a gentile as it is written in the Bible-“Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?

For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.Matthew 6: 31-32. He did not understand that God is the provider of our needs. “The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing.Psalm 34: 10”. Morever, his preference to cares of this world over the presence of the Lord made him receiving the curse from the Lord. Is it good to look a lepor wearing fine linen dress obtained from Naaman the Syrian? See, the preference might have brought him the things of this world but could not make to enjoy the same!.

Therefore, your preference -whether to choose his kingdom and righteousness or the the things of this world would matter a lot. First choose his kingdom and righteousness therefore other your needs shall be freely provided to you. If your preference is the things of this world (like a gentile), you may receive them but be careful you may loose his presence and may also not enjoy the things obtained. Remember the words in the Bible,”But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.Matthew 6: 33″.
